Japanese crafts created by Studio Ghibli and Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten with artisans from around the world.
This is a Mino ware acorn plate made in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture using the ``tatara technique,'' in which clay plates are pressed one by one into a mould by hand to form a plate, the resulting piece has an uneven, gentle texture.
The petite size makes it useful for storing small items such as accessories.
The rustic neutral earthy colour works well with pretty much anything, so you can use it for a whole range of uses limited only by your imagination, from serving small portions of dry ingredients like candy and mints or by itself as a decorative piece.
- Small ceramic plate approximately 11cm diameter and 2.5cm height
- Weight : Approximately 122g
Important Guidelines for Safe Use:
[Before Use]
To prevent dirt from penetrating the surface (fine cracks on the surface), we recommend sealing as described below:
- Place rice water and a bowl in a pot and heat it over medium heat.
- Just before it boils, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let it cool to room temperature while soaking in the water.
- Wash thoroughly and dry completely.
[When Using]
- Avoid rapid heating and cooling, as ceramics are susceptible to sudden temperature changes. Soak the ware in water to moisten it before use to prevent stains and odors from forming.
[After Use]
- While you can use the dishwasher, we recommend hand washing to extend its life. Be cautious not to overfill, as this may cause damage.
- Please wash with a soft sponge, avoiding abrasive detergents or metal scrubbing brushes that may cause scratches.
- Do not leave it soaking in water. After washing, wipe with a soft dry cloth, ensure thorough drying, and store it in a well-ventilated place.
- Ceramics can retain moisture, so even if it appears dry, there may be some residual moisture inside. Ensure thorough drying to prevent mold, stains, and odors.
[Caution]
- Handle with care to prevent chipping or cracking due to strong impacts.
- For your safety, discontinue use if any cracks or damage are observed.
- Some penetration may occur over time, but it won't affect its usability, so enjoy it as part of its texture.
- As these ceramics are hand-finished, there may be slight individual differences in color and shape.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure the longevity and proper maintenance of your microwave-safe ceramic ware.
