Product Description
Hasami ware originates from Hasami Town, located in the Higashisonogi District of Nagasaki Prefecture. With a rich history spanning 400 years, the craft initially specialized in celadon porcelain before transitioning to the mass production of tableware during the Edo period. Characterized by understated beauty, these pieces often feature simple floral motifs against a white background.
Today, Hasami ware artisans produce a diverse range of ceramics, employing both hand-painted and printed techniques across various styles, whether porcelain or pottery. The Rinkurou Kiln, established in 1964 within the heart of Hasami ware's traditional production area, upholds this centuries-old legacy. Renowned for their enduring craftsmanship and unique artistic sensibilities, Rinkurou artisans meticulously craft pieces that captivate the senses. From the timeless allure of "sometsuke" to the opulent charm of the "Old Imari style," and the harmonious fusion of "sometsuke" with the vibrant hues of red glaze in "somenishiki," each creation embodies a profound depth of flavor. Adorning your dining table with these brocade vessels elevates any meal, infusing it with an irresistible touch of elegance.
